long week...

Hello everyone! Spring Break and another long weekend have gone by. For me, aside from getting a week off school spring break has never been a big deal. My mom would usually still have to work when I had the week off school, so I never got to go to the beach really this time of year, or anything like that. Although I never complained about getting the week off school.
This past week, I was at the park most of the week. Then Friday and Saturday I worked at Big League weekend at the Alamodome. Big League weekend was cool, but I am looking forward to just being back in air conditioning most of the week. I never feel like I do well outdoors. I can get two hundred leads and I still wouldn't. ha ha
Friday I ended up going to Boozehounds because it was the owners birthday. The band was good, but they only really played a few good dancing type songs.
Yesterday I ended up running the Alamo 13.1- a half marathon. It started and finished at the Alamo itself, and it went by the zoo, as well as Brackenridge Park. It turned out to be perfect running weather, and I ended up finishing in just under two hours- woot woot! lol I am glad I got to run.  I didn't even know I was going to until the very last minute, because the only reason I got to run is a friend of my moms coudn't do the run at the very last, so mom asked me since she was volunteering there at the aid stations. After the run, there where Krispie Kreme donuts for people that ran the 5k,  and there was beer, chocolate milk, a potato, and rice with chicken and beans for everyone. I just had some chocolate milk and half a bananna. I am never super hungry right after a race. Plus after I met up with my mom, we went to IHOP for lunch, where she had sirloin tips, and eggs. I had two pancakes, scrambled eggs, a peice of bacon, and a piece of sasguage. Then I got ready to pull an evening shift at Six Flags.  I know , I am nuts for doing a half marathon at the very last minute. But I'm glad I did it
It was time with mom and it reminded me  that I have improved as a runner since my first half marathon.  (My finishing time the first time I did a half was 2:07;05.) We'll see where the trails take me next. Love you all.
