After Easter Blog

Hello everyone!
I hope everyone is having a good beginning of the workweek.  I spent Easter Sunday at Six Flags working. But, I at least got a free bunny shaped cookie out of my time there, plus whatever leads I got. Saturday Scott and I ended up going to Jims and having dinner there. Then we relaxed atand watched Jurassic Park.  So it was a nice and relaxing evening.
I was off today, so I ran while Scott worked. I am beginning to wonder how many people keep their dogs on a leash now. While I was running, two dogs came toward me, while they where barking , so I finished the remainder of my run at the gym after that.  I  am going to have to find another running route.  I love dogs, and cats with all my heart, but not when I am trying to run.
Anyway, Scott and I just ate dinner, and we're ready to settle in for the night.  I have an episode of Charmed on, and soon we'll have coffee. Yeah for the little things like that. *Hehe*
Tomorrow it will be back to work. I have a couple of mall shifts, then I get to work Disney on ice, and I am at the park and Spurs again. ( Go Spurs Go! lol)
I am just glad everyone's Spring Break is over with, so it's just the weekends at Six Flags now until summer, and it is just malls during the week.  Last week I  had to have co workers translate for me half the time, because alot of people at the park where from Mexico.(Oley.)
Anyway, have a good workweek everyone.
Love you all.

Pre Easter Blog

Hi everyone!
I hope everyone is having an awesome  weekend. Mine turned out to be the usual- I worked, came home, after our laundry was done Scott and I ate,  and went to Boozehounds. Right now I am a little bummed because I was told I will be needed to work all day at Six Flags Easter Sunday. So I guess tonight and tomorrow will be my Easter celebration.
Normally on Easter, my mom and I would just go to church, and have dinner with friends.
Aside from work, I've been trying to get used to running on hills. But even on the treadmill at the gym, I am still feeling it when the incline is above 3 -ha!
I am nervous and excited at the same time. It will be the first time I have gone out of state to do a run. I am wondering if I will be able to complete the course  , how well I will do, and of course it will be the first time Teddy will will my mom and I running together.
Before going put, I ended up rewatching "Fever Pitch."  The two main charectors remind me of how Scott and I are.
On the weekends, Scott likes to go out and watch his bands perform, and I am always the one having to go I have to work in the morning , so I can't always stay until 2 am then go eat at Jims. That, and the fact I don't really drink- I've told Scott several times he can go without me . But,  I guess if Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon can make it work, so can Scott and I.

What's next?

Happy Monday everyone! I am just enjoying my day off.  After Scott and I got back from the gym, I ended up sleeping for almost two hours. I needed it after the long work week last week.  American Dad is on, and I have coffee in my belly, so I am happy. Tomorrow it's back to work until Easter Sunday.
Well, as of now I have completed two half marathons, and two full marathons.  I guess it's offical- I have the race bug. (The things I'll do for bling, and to be able to find an excuse to eat pancakes. *hehe*) I guess I really do enjoy it, as much as I never thought I would. I like the fact  that we all cheer each other on to complete the course, you almost don't need a waterbottle because at least at the races I've been in, about every mile or so, there's been an aid station where people are passing out water, gu, and gatorade. There's free food afterward, and it goes to show if you work hard, you never know what you can do.  I know I am crazy- doing a half marathon and full marathon with barely any training. It goes to show you never really know where running will take you , and sometimes you just have to try,and run because you never know what can happen right? Now, the only races I am signed up for now are the Tacoma marathon, and San Antonio Rock n Roll marathon.
I have decided for my next two races to my friends and family who have supported me through the years. I have already proven I can go the distance, and I know I wouldn't be where I am now without the love and support from everyone around me.
Anyway love you all

long week...

Hello everyone! Spring Break and another long weekend have gone by. For me, aside from getting a week off school spring break has never been a big deal. My mom would usually still have to work when I had the week off school, so I never got to go to the beach really this time of year, or anything like that. Although I never complained about getting the week off school.
This past week, I was at the park most of the week. Then Friday and Saturday I worked at Big League weekend at the Alamodome. Big League weekend was cool, but I am looking forward to just being back in air conditioning most of the week. I never feel like I do well outdoors. I can get two hundred leads and I still wouldn't. ha ha
Friday I ended up going to Boozehounds because it was the owners birthday. The band was good, but they only really played a few good dancing type songs.
Yesterday I ended up running the Alamo 13.1- a half marathon. It started and finished at the Alamo itself, and it went by the zoo, as well as Brackenridge Park. It turned out to be perfect running weather, and I ended up finishing in just under two hours- woot woot! lol I am glad I got to run.  I didn't even know I was going to until the very last minute, because the only reason I got to run is a friend of my moms coudn't do the run at the very last, so mom asked me since she was volunteering there at the aid stations. After the run, there where Krispie Kreme donuts for people that ran the 5k,  and there was beer, chocolate milk, a potato, and rice with chicken and beans for everyone. I just had some chocolate milk and half a bananna. I am never super hungry right after a race. Plus after I met up with my mom, we went to IHOP for lunch, where she had sirloin tips, and eggs. I had two pancakes, scrambled eggs, a peice of bacon, and a piece of sasguage. Then I got ready to pull an evening shift at Six Flags.  I know , I am nuts for doing a half marathon at the very last minute. But I'm glad I did it
It was time with mom and it reminded me  that I have improved as a runner since my first half marathon.  (My finishing time the first time I did a half was 2:07;05.) We'll see where the trails take me next. Love you all.

Everything is a mater of perspective

Hello!
Well, my body is somewhat recovered from springing forward, and Saturdays events. After Troy and Katie left, Scott and I just went to bed, because we where both tired.
Now Scott gets to go work while I have the day off. haha
Saturday, Scott took me home after two sets , and then he stayed the rest of the time since it was his friends birthday. I think the fact he did that shows me that we are slowly getting better at compromising when he wants to dance the night away.
Scott and my mom make me feel bad I have to work weekends. When I saw mom Saturday night, she was telling me that she usually does her long runs on Saturday morning. So if I where off on Saturday I could run with her on Saturday, and then dance in the evening without having to worry about getting leads in between. Oh well, you do what you have time for, right?
When my mom and I where done running Saturday , she said I needed to work on my abs and wants me to wear more form fitting stuff when I run to help with my loose skin. It made me ask Scott if I should just talk to my boss about having Tuesday and Thursday mornings off because that's when he works on abs. But as soon as I got to Boozehounds, Brenda and Shayne said I looked fine. I think it goes to show when it comes to fitness, as far as you've come, there's always someplace to grow and improve. But, remember, to love yourself  no matter what.
Love you all

So the weather likes to play tricks on me...

Happy Sunday everyone! Yesterday really was a busy day. I had work in the morning , ran 11 miles with my mom after my shift not too far from Six Flags because she is trying to get me used to running on hills, and then I went to Boozehounds to listen to the cover band Arrowhead before going to bed.
Between losing an hour of sleep and everything yesterday, I was tired today. But I still finished my shift at Six Flags today, and I am enjoying the fact I have tomorrow off. Now I just had some coffee, and Scotts son Troy and his girlfriend Katie are over watching a movie. So it's a good night just to just and relax before the busy workweek ahead. I am just glad the weather is cooperating with me now. It was nice yesterday and nice today, which is a definite welcome after the weather earlier in the week. Plus when I have to work outside I don't like having to wait for my supervisors and managers to decide if they are going to send us home or not. I know  that's their job, and they don't control the weather , but when it rains I shut down and just want to go home, even if I am working inside, but that's just me.  Anyway I hope everyone has a great spring break.
Take care, and love you all.

End of week blog

Hello everyone!
How is everyones Friday going? For me I am just glad it's the end of the week.  Between the rain, and the fact Spring Break is upon us, it has been a long workweek so far.
I ended up working at Six Flags Monday, Tuesday and Wenesday and Ingram Mall yesterday.
Monday and Tuesday where ok at the park, because people from places like El Paso where on their Sping Break. But Wenesday it was tough at the park, because of the weather.
Today I am off, so I'll get to relax at least a little before the weekend begins. It is Jasons (Scotts friend who he calls "frogmaster") birthday weekend ,so I know we'll be going out  Saturday.  :0)  But so far the hilight of my week happened on Tuesday. My mom picked me up from work because  she said she ordered a pair of running shoes from me. ( We've been stocking up on hoka shoes on sale at the running warehouse because we found a pair of shoes normally 150.00 on sale for 40.00) Anyway, she also got me a hydration jacket, neck rest from Buckee's (the best rest stop ever), compression calve sleeves, and a necklace that says 26.2. Inbetween the rain triggering my allergies, it's nice to know we can still talk, run, and eat after everything. It was also just being able to go to the gym  today after the long work week. There is something about writing and working out that destresses me.
Anyway, have a good weekend everyone. Love you all

Friday blog

It's Friday. You know what that means.
It's the end of the week- hey! lol I know Scott wants to go to Texas Radio's 25th anniversary tonight at Boozehounds. I actually have today off, so I just want to enjoy not having to worry about catching a bus anywhere.  *hehe*
After the  gym, Scott and I had lunch, did laundry, dinner is in our bellies, and we will be getting ready to go in a little bit.  I know I am crazy for going out when I work a double tomorrow. But, it is the only night Scott is going out. Plus, if not I will just be by myself at the house until Scott gets home really early in the morning, at which time I'll have to get up to walk to the bus stop by our place because I have to be there by 7:55 to get to work on time.
With the hill workouts mom is starting to have me to, I am starting to feel somewhat ready for Tacoma.  *hehe*   I have also realized the one way to be able to wander around the mall is to be a girl scout.  Really, when I worked out at Ingram on Wenesday I saw a group of them not too far from my booth.  They where wandering around asking people to buy their cookies, and I didn't even have to leave my booth to get two boxes of them. They came to my booth, I told them the cookies I wanted, and then they brought it back to me . *hehe* I have to admit, they are starting to get efficent.
Anyway have a good evening everyone!
Love you all

Thursday blog..

Well folks,
Today we had our weekly staff meeting ,and  the weekend is almost here. I work at the slingin ink expo at the Freeman Colosseum, the spurs game and back at Ingram mall. So it'll be a busy, and hopefully productive weekend for me. I met up with Scott for lunch after the meeting, then he got food at Dennys before his evening client.
Something clearly needs to change.  After I get back from Washington, I am going to see about enrolling in a drivers ed course and getting the car I bought fixed because right now it's just sitting in our driveway , and it can't be driven.  I need a license more than anything. My job takes me everywhere, and Scotts brakes don't work very well so he can't go that far. I know my coworkers, and friends have been kind about rides when they can. But,I know I need to drive. I guess I'm feeling the need even more so today, because I took the bus home from the meeting, and I was going to take another bus to the gym to meet Scott there, and he said he was leaving before the bus got to a place where I could walk to the gym, so I had to get off the bus and he ended up meeting me in an area where there was construction going on.
Anyway on a more positive note, my mom and I are still in contact after Surfside. I guess it was the thing we needed to reconnect. Maybe it was the beach, the fact we where both out of town, or the the fact I agreed to run 26.2 miles with her, but we seem to be in a good place now.  lol She's currently  having me do hill workouts so I will be somewhat ready to run Tacoma. Basically, she had me run in a place she knows there are hills and there are a couple of videos on the treadmill at the gym that have hill workouts so I did that too.
Anyway, I hope everyone has a good weekend.
Love you all!
