So, it finally feels like fall...

After a rainy weekend, the weather seems to be taking a turn for the better.  I literally spent the day outdoors  Monday. Scott and I didn't go to the gym because he wanted to hear updates about his father , so I ran, and ate before work.  *hehe* After that, I had to work at La Cantera in the evening, and it didn't get too hot or anything through my whole shift there.  I actually enjoyed it. Over the weekend, I literally spent most of it at Southpark mall while it rained.Yesterday, I tried bodyflow at the gym. I needed it after all the running I've done, and will be doing. I did feel really centered and relaxed afterward.  I'm known for going to the other classes there at the gym. The dance classes, body pump- the weight lifting class, sports conditioning, and body attack -a sports cardio class there, so it was nice to change it up a little. So lesson of the day- stretch alot . *hehe*  Scott and I went to Dennys in a little bit to get some food before he had to go back to train some clients in the evening.  Yeah for Dennys and coffee with your boyfriend. :0) I  was actually impressed by the waiter who served us there last night. He understood that Scott had to be back at work at a certain time, he was friendly, and I ordered a burger I thought I saw on the menu last time I was there, but when it wasn't on the menu for some reason- he assured me they could still make it for me . Yeah!Avacados on a burger plus coffee = a happy Donna. :0)
Anyway, today I am just going to enjoy my day off today.  It is national chocolate day-yeah! *hehe*   I had some cocoa roast almonds with my oatmeal and strawberries this morning , but I think a little more celebration is in order.  Right now I have coffee to drink, and an episode of  Friends on, so life is good. *hehe*  Scott is going to do yard work while I rest. But I made him a sandwich, so he's cool with it. *hehe*
I do work on Halloween, but I am looking forward to seeing everyone dressed up in costume.  Or, at least seeing how many little girls will be dressed as a charector from "Frozen." *hehe* Now I am going to try and be somewhat productive . Have a good day all.

A quick look back..

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope everyone is doing well despite the crazy weather. I am thankful I at least got to work indoors this weekend. I was supposed to work in outdoor locations Friday and Saturday, but because of the weather I ended up working indoors.  (Thank god right?)  I know I shouldn't but when the weather gets bad I shut down and get lazy. If I am out I just want to go home. I like it when it rains, but I don't like getting out in it. I just like listening to the pitter patter of the raindrops from the comfort of my own home.
Thursday I went to the gym for bodyjam and bodyattack while Scott trained clients at the gym. I was glad I got to go. It was the bodyjam instructor, Kimberlys birthday , so I got to dance with her on her birthday, which was cool. :0) (I know life is fair, I dance while Scott eats peanut butter sandwiches, and tells people to "pump it up." But we got to do some dancing together as well this weekend. It  was our friend Marks birthday this weekend so we helped celebrate his birthday too. His wife Robin made some margarita cupcakes, so I stole one. MMM cupcakes... lol)
Kimberly was telling me that I am fast.  That plus the fact one of Scotts clients was telling me she wants to lose weight like I have reminded me how much of a whirlwind these past few years have been.  At the beginning of 2011, I was known for alot of things, but running and working out was not one of them. I was known for eating alot of fast food , going for seconds all the time at dinner, drinking soda, and ofcourse coffee all the time. ( I was born in Washington state, and lived there, so coffee will be always be a staple part of my diet. haha.)
Now I feel like I've done a complete 180. I am known for going to the gym when I am not at work, I have a professional trainer for a boyfriend , and  I am trying to learn how to run. (Keyword is try,but that's how we learn anything right? By slowly putting one foot in front of the other. )  It was definitely my mom that got me my start on running and working out. She's the one who got me going to the gym, and got me to sign up to run the rock and roll half marathon last year.  But I guess, I really wanted all this for myself too, otherwise I still wouldn't be doing it now.
Speaking of running, between the weather and work, it ended up being a rest weekend.  It's starting to clear up now, but I have to get ready for work. (I know, darn work. haha)  Plus, I know I will be back on the road again this week. After all, cupcakes are one of those things worth running for. *hehe* Have a good and safe Sunday everyone.

Back to the future day blog

Hello! How is everyone today? I am laying down and writing. Today I was off, so I went on am 18 mile run. My legs and feet are still both feeling it. But,I know I needed to try it. Try I did. The pretzels and half of a peanut butter sandwich I had on the run helped me with some of the walls , but the last three miles where the hardest.  Thank god I don't have to do these kinds of runs everyday.
This is Donna before a long run- alright I'm going to log in the miles,I got this.
Donna after a long run - Scott ,foam roll me please while I lay in bed. Please?  I love you.
The first part of the week was a little rough. It was slower at south park mall than usual, so I know I need to go into crazy Donna mode over the weekend. Then at home it was crazy in the mornings because Scott and I had to get up at different times because of our schedules. Today was the first day this week we woke up and went to the gym together. (Basically I ran while he worked. Sounds fair right?) Lol Anyway, here's hoping the rest of the week goes smoother than the beginning of the week. How is everyone's week going so far? Love you all!

Blog before bed...

TGIF everyone! Today was the usual. I worked out in the morning, went to work, and since there where no bands playing, Scott and I just went to Jims and headed home.
Scott is resting since he is still a little under the weather because of allergies. I know allergies are no fun. When I have an allergy attack, my nose gets runny, my eyes get red, and I need a tissue literally every five seconds.
I can't sleep. I don't know if it's the coffee at Jims, or what. But right now I have "How To Lose a Guy in Ten Days" on.  *hehe* It's a good night to just relax, and kick back.  Tomorrow Scott and I will be going to see his favorite cover band, Texas Radio after I get off work.
I have to admit, before deciding to sign up for the marathon, I wondered how Scott and I would handle it. I know he wouldn't say don't try to do it.  But, I know he likes to go out on weekends, and training for a marathon means sometimes having to get up early to get training in. Add that to the fact I don't have a consistent work schedule ,and I didn't think it would happen. Several times I've told him I would quit, but I feel like we've somehow brought some balance to the force now.
However, it has definitely showed me that while we're both happy go lucky people, the fact he has been doing the same thing every weekend for three years tells me he is comfortable with the familiar. But, I on the other hand, will always be one who wants to see what's over the next horizon.

Thursday night blog

Happy Thursday everyone! I went to the weekly staff meeting, and had lunch.  I watched Sex and The City while Scott rested, since he is a little under the weather. I did go on my long run last Friday. Saturday I went to a friends birthday party, and Sunday morning went for a quick three mile run before work.  It was after that I couldn't help but think, running really is life. *hehe*   I noticed as I get my body used to the longer distances, the shorter distances are getting easier to do.
It is a definite reminder that no matter what you do, if  you put your mind to something, you can do  anything you put your mind to whatever your passion is. Now that I have a couple of fifteen milers under my belt, I feel more confident I will be able to complete the marathon. But like they say, the true test will be on race day. I still stand by what I say, and that my real plan is to have Scott drive ahead of me, and throw peanut butter and jelly sandwiches at me, so at least if nothing else I'll be protein packed through the later miles. *hehe*
Anyway now dinner is in my belly, and Scott is about to make coffee for us and the Thursday night football game, as usual is on.  Our compromise is he lets me watch Sex and The City when I'm home in the afternoon because I understand football's going to be on when there is a game on. *hehe* That's how you can tell who had the t.v. last at our place. If it's on E! or Disney, or Oxygen, I had the t.v. last. If  it's on SportsCenter, Scott had the t.v. last. If it's on one of the local stations, it could have been either one of us. (Dun dun duh!) lol Today is the first evening I really get to spend home. I've had to work evenings at the malls pretty much everyday this week, so it's nice just to kick back and relax this evening.  After all, life is crazy, and I know I'm crazy. But it's nice to know I have someone who for some reason puts up with my crazy.  *hehe*

Early morning blog

Our house likes to play tricks on me with the temperature. Without any air conditioning , or anything on, I am sweating. But when the air conditioning and fan are going, I am too cold. Oy!
I know part of it is now that I am smaller, I don't have as much body fat so I feel the cooler temperature more , but come on!
Anyway last night Scott watched the football game.. I am just enjoying being able to put my feet up.  I have dinner in my belly, and coffee at my side.  Nerves about my upcoming race are coming up.  I still wonder if I am over prepared, under prepared, or what. I know I did the half marathon, but this will still be my first year trying to conquer the full  marathon, and 26.2 is no joke. There are days I feel prepared, and other days I wonder if it's too late just to do a half again. *hehe* But I told Scott's client Frank, I will run for more of his cheesecake, so I am committed.
This week has been go go go so far. I've worked Monday and Tuesday . On Wednesday I ended up visiting a client of Scotts , and then Jenn Oler and I saw  Hotel Transylvania 2 - always nice.
Today it is back to working through the weekend.   The one thing I am trying to remind myself lately is to "let it go" and not too worry too much what other people are doing.
I know it's partially because I know at work, my efficiency rate is being compared to my co workers for scheduling, and my boss had some contests for us this past couple of weeks to help get leads up in the malls, so I can't help but be a little curious. Plus, I was nosey way before Silverleaf anyway. *hehe*
I feel like this weekend there will be more balance to the force. If  the weather cooperates, I am going to get in a long run today, so that we can still go to our friends birthday party tomorrow night, and it's not as taxing on my body. :0) Anyway, have a good weekend everyone! Love you all.

Perspective

While at work on Monday night, my co worker was talking about her fitbit.  I was telling her I had about 22,000 steps on mine because I worked out before my shift. She said I can't believe you already have 22,000 steps on your fitbit because she hasn't reached the 10,000 step mark yet which is what the American Heart Association says is the amount of steps we're supposed to be getting on average each day . Me on the other hand, I still wonder how one of the people on my friends list on my fitbit gets almost 30,000 steps a day.  I know it's because he is literally on his feet at his job through his shift there. But when I see the numbers I'm still like what? lol That's because the first time I got 26,000 steps on my fitbit was a day I went to a cardio class with my friend Laura in the morning, went grocery shopping with Scott , and then worked RiverCity Rockfest later that night after dancing with Scott the night before.  I guess it just goes to show you, no matter where you are in life, there's always someone looking up to you, wondering how you got to where you are.

I tried to be wonderwoman this past weekend...

Sunday was a definite rest day. I ended up going to a fifteen mile run before work  Saturday morning, because I wanted to get a long run in before October rolled around. After that, I had to work a UTSA game, and Texas Radio was playing , so I ended up going to Snoops. After that I was exhausted. But at least I got some rest before I had to work the Womens Convention .
This week has literally been go go go. I have worked at southpark mall, ingram, and la canter so far. Today has been my only day off, aside from the staff meeting.  It's nice to know that I am starting to get back to where I was before. I got a backpack because I knew a professional is someone who executes the basics at an excellent level everytime.  Woot woot!
But if there is one thing I learned this weekend and this past week, it is that I am not wonderwoman.  It was obvious I was exhausted by the time I was at Snoops Saturday night. If I appear to be, it is just because I try my best at all I do.  That is really all of us can do. Love you all.
