Tuesday blog

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Well this weekend was busy with a capitol B. Saturday I ended up running 16 miles before working at Six Flags from 10-8. Then Sunday I worked at Six Flags from 10-7 at Six Flags. Am I crazy for running that kind of milage before a shift like that? Proably, but even before running, I was never normal. Plus I know the girl I run with appreciates having someone to run the miles with.  Today I am off, and it's back to hill repeats with USAfit.
What better thing to do before meeting up with a running group then to watch a movie about chocolate? *hehe* I am watching  Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. After Gene Wilders death, I wanted to put on the movie. *hehe*  To me he will always be Willy Wonka, and I will always be one of the many people just hoping to find a Golden Ticket. May he rest in peace.

Friday Blog

Hello everyone!
Well, now it is the calm before the storm. Football season is starting.  This week it was back to the malls, meaning the start of our slower season.  It's not as busy, but I at least get to be in air conditioning most of the week. The struggle is real. *hehe*
Although it has been crazy at home. Scott's car did not start Wednesday morning, so he ended up spending most of the day taking care of that.  Later on that day, he worked on his CPR certification to keep that updated.
I am still running, or pretending to run with my moms running group.  I feel like I am slowly but surely starting to get faster. My mom says at the rate I am going, I could run a 4:00 full marathon in December. I will take it considering anytime I have tried a full so far my times have been anywhere between 4:50 and 6 hours. *hehe*  (Next stop, Boston qualifying time- haha).
But, no matter what happens in December, for me it's nice not to have to run alone. I had to prepare for my first marathon,  I did have to go on the long runs by myself, so I know what that is like.
Anyway, today I worked a shift at Southpark Mall. Then I met up with my mom and we went to Costco with her friend Lydia to get things for our running group and some stuff for us as well. *hehe*
Then we went to moms friend Stephens house for a little bit to drop off the supplies that mom bought , and now we are just relaxing at the house watching Gilmore Girls. My mom is to Gilmore Girls as I am to the show Charmed. Ever since her friend Linda introduced her to the show, she has been Netflix binging on it ever since.  As for me, I have been hooked on Charmed since high school , and I am just psyching myself out for tomorrow because I have a really full day. I  am scheduled to run 17 miles , and then work at Six Flags from 10-8. I don't know how it will go, but we shall see.
Love you all.

Monday blog

Happy Monday everyone!
Well, I am the one who screwed up today.  I was not as honest with Scott as I could have been when I went to get something for the office. Anyway, aside from that it was the usual day off. I went to the gym with Scott and now we're relaxing for the evening.   I guess in my case, two wrongs do not make a right or anything like that.
Anyway,  at work it is back to the malls during the week, and I will only have to be Six Flags on the weekends until the end of the season, along with our other events. It'll be the start of our slow season, but at least I will be in air conditioning for  the most part. Slow, but in air conditioning- the struggle is real. *hehe*
Anyway, tomorrow I have another day off. It'll be time to run with my moms running, and relax before my workweek starts.
Love you all

Sunday night blog

Hello everyone!
Well, tomorrow it's back to school for alot of people.   I am just waiting for the weather to be normal, or as normal as the weather will ever get here.
Between having to work Shelby qzqsess in heat advisories and flash flood warnings, I don't know if my body knows which way is up sometimes. I know my allergies have not been fans of it. Today was a much needed rest day after work. Yesterday I ran 8 miles with my moms running group, worked and then I ended up going to Easy Street , since Texas Radio was playing there. Between my allergies, running with mom, and clubbing with Scott and our tribe, and having to work this morning-I was just out of it this evening.

Anyway this weekend has made me wonder about how much of  a kid I still am. I know I can be immature, and I know I still need a  real job.  I don't know wether certain things that have happened are because of things I have done, or what.  I know I am not perfect. I have said things that I have not meant, or in the heat of the moment. I complain and whine about everything.  I am lazy when it comes to cleaning, and yes I still like Disney movies.  But, I am also the person who has never used having to take the bus as an excuse to be late to work,  and as of last week, I have ran 14 miles before a shift at work to help someone else get ready for a race they are registered for in October. So while I may still have alot of growing up to do, I know I am not too far off  base.
It's nice to know I have friends who constantly remind me that I am a grown women, capable, and  worthy of anything and everything.
Love you all.

rainly day blog

Well today has been like the perfect day off despite the rain.
After the gym I ended up meeting  Jenn and Cathy Olers friend from Nebraska, Jenn S. for coffee.
Jenn S and her husband ended up moving to San Antonio because of her husbands job in the military.
We had talked on the phone in high school once, but we had never met in person until now.
Our meet up turned into two hours of talking . Since it was raining off and on, it was the perfect day to do that, and it's nice to know I made a new friend, or reconnected with an old friend. :0) It's nice tp know I have another girl in San Antonio to shop, have coffee, and hang out with.
After that I ate dinner and now just relaxing for the evening. I have "Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory" on. So, life is good. *hehe*  The movie reminds me how much of a sweet tooth I have , and always will have. *hehe* After all no matter how much weight I have lost, I will always love chocolate.  After all, some things change, but coffee, and chocolate stay the same. *hehe*
I am just looking forward to the weather being cooler. It means that Six Flags won't be open all week, no more hundred degree weather, and back in air conditioning.  Plus a somewhat normal work schedule.
For now, I hope everyone in San Antonio is staying somewhat dry. Only here can it go from a heat advisory to flash flooding within a matter of days.
Love you all.

Saturday blog

Hello everyone!
It's Saturday! That means it is the weekend.
After working at Six Flags yesterday, Scott and I put away our laundry and had dinner.  After that Scott went to BoozeHounds to listen to Chill Factor, and I rested at home for the night. Today has been crazy. I ran 14 miles with USAFit today.  We started at 6:20 when it was still dark outside, and I got to see the sky go from night, to twilight, and then to the daytime sky.  That was cool. After that Felisha and I went to Dennys for pancakes before I had to go to work.  I pulled a shift at SouthPark mall . After that, I had dinner with my mom and her friend Linda since they got back from the cruise today.  We got Filipino food and now I am just resting before Scott and I go to Boozehounds in a little bit.
Aside from that, these past two days I've been out in the heat, getting leads or pretending to get leads. *hehe* It was alot busier at the park than I thought it would be. Maybe its just because since I was at our waterpark booth, people figured at least after dealing with me, they could go swimming , which they really wanted to do. *hehe*
I also know I have a few things to think about this week. Some know what I have to think about and some don't. But its nice to know I know my friends will support me no matter what.
Love you all
Donna

Day off blog

Hello everyone!
Well after having  my birthday off, it felt weird going back to work.  It feels weird going back to work after celebrating something,  after you get back from a vacation, or after a regular scheduled day off. *hehe* Today after the gym I ended up seeing Jenn for lunch. We ended up going to a thai place literally right by "Da Bunker"non Pat Booker a place Scott and I , along with our friends used to go dancing .
Now I am just relaxing. Our talk about growing up and maturity made me realize that I still have some growing up to do.  But , in the end no matter how old we are, we are all learning, and sometimes growing as we go along. All I can say now is, I Donna will make lots of mistakes.Hopefully I will learn from some of them.
Scott and I just got tacos for dinner. Now we are just turning in for the evening. Tomorrow it is back to work for both of us. I am back at Six Flags. I am looking forward to being back in air conditioning after Six Flags is no longer open all week toward the end of the month. I never feel like I do well in the heat. I could get  5 or 500 leads, and I will always be the lead looking like a lost caribou on the walk to and from our booth.
Now it is time for coffee. Mmmm coffee.
Love you all

After Birthday blog

Well, some cake has been eaten, presents have been open, and I will be going back to work in a little bit. Yesterday, after my 10 mile run with USAfit, mom and I ended up going to Alamo Quarry to watch "Bad Moms." It was a funny movie, and it had a really good message- that when it comes to kids we're all figuring things out as we go along, and perfection is over rated. I may not have kids, but I am definitely still figuring things out as I go along too, and I know I am not perfect.
Scott can tell you I am not susie homemaker. After work, running, or hanging out with friends, I like to rest and relax, not chores. I have to be pushed to do that. Really, we are all just doing the best we can with the cards we have been dealt.
After the movie, mom and I picked up her friend Linda at the airport and then I headed home.  After wishing mom and Linda a good time on their cruise it is taking everything not to tell one of my friends we're going on a cruise next year. I've never been on one and it sounds like fun.  Anyway after I got home ,Scott took me out for dinner and then we went to Boozehounds for a little bit with our friends there to listen to Arrowhead. Then we ended up going to Main street to listen to Hash tag since they are both really good cover bands.
I am glad I got to reconnect with our tribe. I know its been a while since I've seen them.  It's nice to know that whatever happens in life, they want me to be nothing short of happy and I look forward to the many adventures I will have them them ,and everyone else in my life.
Love you all and thanks for making my birthday special.

Friday Blog

Hello everyone!
I had yesterday off , and it ended up being a random day.First, I ended up going to the staff meeting at our office.  At the meeting the discussion was about why some people can get a decent amount of leads, and others do not. I think it is a little bit of everything- luck, working hard, and staying positive no matter what happens in the field. Me personally, I don't consider myself the wittiest person out in the field - I just try my best, and my best has been good enough to get me this far. My mom says the same thing when it comes to marathons.  Yes, you train to get your body used to the distance, but after mile 21, it's all mental , because once you get that far, you will be able to complete the race.
After that, I had lunch with Debra, her friend Veronica, Selma, and Jenn at Osaka. After that we got desert at La Madeline across the street.  We bonded over art, where we like to go for sushi, and ofcourse work. It's nice to get together like that with the girls every now and then. Then I got together with my mom and did a 5 mile tempo run. I finished it , but it was hot. I ended up drinking a liter of aquafina after the run. But, it was still a nice way to end the day.
Today, I went to gym with Scott, and now it is back to work at Six Flags until the park closes, then it will be my birthday -yeah!
Tomorrow I will be with my mom and her running group in the morning. I will be running 10 miles with Felicia, a girl in our group who is training for the marine corps marathon in October, so she doesn't have to run alone. Mom likes us running together because we're more or less the same pace. So yeah I made a running buddy already! :0) Then mom and I will be going to see "Bad Moms," because mom thought it looked funny, and then we'll be picking her friend Linda up from the airport. Later that evening it will be time for dinner with Scott , and BoozeHounds afterwards.
It will be a full day, but I am looking forward to it, and seeing all the people I will be sharing the day with.
Love you all .

Tuesday blog

Happy Tuesday everyone!
Well it has been a random few days.  Saturday morning I was at the Southtown Yogaloft at 6:30 in the morning to do thirty minutes of yoga before running with USAFit. Mom had someone teach us a little bit of yoga because some of the runners where asking about stretching before running. I loved seeing a view of downtown San Antonio early in the morning, before people start to wake up, and go on their day.  It definitely reminded me that I need to stretch more. I stretch when the instructors have us do it at the end of our class, and I foam roll my legs when I need to, but that's about it. After that, I had to work at Six Flags.
Sunday , I ended up working at the Comic Con convention that was going on. It was definitely the slower of the three days. But, I ended up seeing a couple of people there that I went to high school with, and some cool costumes, plus it was in air conditioning. Monday, it was back to work at Six Flags.  Today, I am off, and just relaxing before it is time to do hill repeats with mom and our running group again.  I am still wondering how I am going to be able to do the longer runs with the group when that time comes, but we'll cross that bridge when we need to.
Love you all.
